Estefany and Tyler's Wedding
About a month before her wedding Estefany contacted me through my Instagram account. She had moved the date of the wedding and the photographer she was expecting to hire wasn’t available for the new date. Regardless of the short notice, I decided to photograph her wedding.
When Estefany talked to Tyler about the possibility of hiring me as their wedding photographer he recognized me on the photos she showed him. Tyler and my husband had worked together the previous semester on an internship.
Getting to know both of them has been wonderful. Estefany is from Venezuela, and Tyler from the United States. Growing up I heard all the time that Colombia and Venezuela were like siblings, we have some many similarities culturally and geographically that it was almost impossible not to feel the connection with Estefany.
Their wedding was a beautiful representation of the mix of their cultures. Starting with the sealing at the Payson Temple with a sunny day and finishing at Copper Creek Event Center. They were able to incorporate American and Venezuelan traditions to their wedding making it a memorable day. I felt home at the reception, and enjoyed taking photos of everyone dancing merengue, salsa, and cumbia.
Thank you Estefany and Tyler for allowing me to be a part of the most important day of your lives. You are now Mr. and Mrs. Moon. You are part of the most important team you will ever join. Remember always that marriage is about strengthening that team every single day, incorporate both cultures and learn from each other. Keep making empanadas and arepas together (and invite us please.)
I wish you nothing but all the success in the world!
